Israel & Palestine
It will never happen.

As David Brooks says in his excellent book The Social Animal, page 251, ‘One of the reasons the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has remained so stubbornly unresolved is because each side wants the other to accept its historical narrative.’

Here in Britain we’re all moneyists and people can believe in whatever historical narrative they like so long as they put money first. But things are a bit different in the Middle East. Perhaps, being moneyists, we should accuse people in the Middle East of being heretics, launch a crusade, round up everyone who refuses to worship money above all else and then burn them at the stake.
Here, our Gross National Product is our God and the failure of so many people in the Middle East to make their Gross National Product their number one God is surely a heresy.
