The Russian Album.

Michael Ignatieff.

This is a truly beautiful book and now that Russia is once again becoming a rich and powerful nation, perhaps one not to be missed.

Extremely romantic in nature it looks back on a family history of upper class life in Tsarist Russia, the follies, the war, the revolution, the terrors and the escape. Then itís a flat in Putney followed by the move to Canada and how most of the escapees enjoyed their new life without either power or money.

I loved it. I really did. Magical! I also believe that this record is about as accurate as it is humanly possible to get. Itís backed by journals, dairies, documents, photographs, family discussions and also documents stored in the archives of the Russian government.

If you love a truly good book, donít miss it.
