The Coming of the Third Reich.
Richard J. Evans.
Most books about the Third Reich concentrate on Hitler but the fascinating thing about this one is that Hitler isnít the focus. This is about the Nazi movement and about the people who made it happen. It wasnít a case of people following Hitlerís orders, they were doing what they wanted to do and in most cases, Hitler simply legitimised their actions.
This book is perhaps a bit detailed for the average reader and there are many names which just seem to pop up and instantly vanish. But contained within the pages of this book is the story of the people who supported Hitler and those who suffered and lost because they were against him.
If youíre interested in the period, itís a book you cannot afford to miss.
