Attitude of bankers
caused the financial meltdown.

In the media many are now saying that the financial collapse was all due to problems with the attitude of the banking sector.

The attitude of the banking sector, they say, is not to be trusted.

But I remember the eighties and also remember Mrs. Thatcher insisting that the barrow boys of the East End should be brought into the banks because they had quick and active minds.

Even at the time I laughed at these statements because everyone knew that there was no such thing as an East End barrow boy without at least half a dozen fiddles on the side.

Iíll bet the barrow boys laughed as well. But if a person as prestigious as Mrs. Thatcher said they should be in the banking business, who were they to argue?
