High St@kes, No Prisoners.

Picked this up in a charity shop for £1.50 and must say itís the best value for money deal Iíve had in a long time.

Published in 1999 and written by Charles H. Ferguson itís a classic on the Internet which is sure to last and last. But as Charles Ferguson was the man who thought up and developed the program which has since become known as Microsoft Front Page, one would expect a book that was special.

At times the text does become a little technical so it is a book that is only for those who are interested in the history of computers and the Internet but, that aside:

This book is a must for anyone who would wish to understand the history of the Internet.

This book is a must for anyone who would like to understand the true nature of Microsoft under Bill Gates.

This book is a must for anyone who would like to understand the war between Netscape and Microsoft and why Microsoft won.

This book is a must for anyone with a new idea who wants to approach a venture capitalist.

This book is a must, really, for anyone who is intersted in the internet and computers.

*****

Another high quality book on the history of computers is 'FIRE IN THE VALLEY' by Paul Freiberger and Michael Swaine. (These authors claim that Bill Gates, as a young fifteen year old, was actually caught causing business computers to crash. In fact he discovered a 14 key sequence which would crash a DEC operating system. (Page-30))
